We do offer a secured method of sharing FlipBooks online at a minimal fee. With this service, you can define and provide access to a limited group of users to read/download your FlipBooks. You can protect your FlipBook pages from being printed or saved to a local drive, as well as set expiry dates on your downloaded FlipBooks. The charges are based on the number of FlipBooks downloads. Error Messages

I have encountered "Unable to load {FlipBook Link}" error when opening a FlipBook on the Internet.

Here is a list of possibilities why you are not able to open or view an online FlipBook, while others can:

Possibility 1: A required viewer is not installed

In order to read online FlipBooks, the user will need to have Mac FlipViewer® software installed on his machine. A copy of Mac FlipViewer® software can be downloaded here.

Possibility 2: Safari is not installed

The Mac FlipViewer® software works best with Safari. If you do not already have Safari installed, you may want to download a copy from Apple Computer.

Possibility 3: Launching the online FlipBook from non-Safari web browsers

The FlipBook may not launch automatically from certain web-browsers. In such situations, copy the URL of the online FlipBook, launch your installed copy of Mac FlipViewer®, and paste the FlipBook URL on the address bar, or the text field after clicking on the File -> Open... menu.

Possibility 4: Your Mac FlipViewer® installation may be corrupted

Please trash the Mac FlipViewer® software on your machine, and re-install the software thereafter. A copy of Mac FlipViewer® software can be downloaded here.

Possibility 5: Your personal firewall is restricting the downloading of executable files, and the viewer program access to the internet

Please allow downloading of Mac FlipViewer® installation file, as well as permit the Mac FlipViewer® program to access the internet. If you have problems with the permission setting on your firewall, you may want to temporarily disable your firewall program and try accessing your online FlipBook.

Possibility 6: Your Corporate network environment does not permit downloading of .opf, .flp or any other files that are included in your FlipBook

Please do contact your MIS team for permission and advice on the relevant setting(s).

I have encountered "XML Codes" error when sharing FlipBooks on the Internet.

In order to view online FlipBooks, one will need to have the Mac FlipViewer® software installed on the machine. A copy of the Mac FlipViewer® software can be downloaded here.

In order to prevent this from recurring, it is recommended that you replace your online FlipBook URL with an auto-install URL, e.g., replace

http://www.flipviewer.com/home.opf
with
http://www.flipviewer.com/fven/?opf=http://www.flipviewer.com/home.opf&fvl=1

When the readers click on the auto-install URL, they will be guided to download the Mac FlipViewer® program on the machines that do not have Mac FlipViewer® previously installed. Once the download completes, the downloaded file should unstuff and a new folder with the setup file created on the desktop. To install Mac FlipViewer®, simply run the setup file.

Once Mac FlipViewer® is installed, please restart the browser application and click on the FlipBook URL (or auto-install URL) to view the FlipBook.

I have encountered "An Error occurred parsing the XML File" error when sharing FlipBooks on the Internet.

This happens when viewing online FlipBooks using Internet Explorer on a Mac that does not have a copy of the Mac FlipViewer® software installed. Please install the Mac FlipViewer® software before clicking on the FlipBook URL to view the FlipBook. A copy of the Mac FlipViewer® software can be downloaded here.

At the same time, you may want to consider adding the MIME type setting for OPF files (FlipBook) as shown below on the web hosting server:

File extension: opf MIME Type Setting: application/x-opf

When the readers click on the FlipBook URL, e.g., http://www.flipviewer.com/home.opf on your website, the FlipBook will be launched correctly instead of the XML codes appearing on the screen.

Note that the setting of MIME Type is not necessary if all your FlipBooks are launched using the FlipViewer® auto-install URLs. For more information on how to setup auto-install URLs, please click here.

I have encountered "This FlipBook is only viewable on Mac OS X 10.3 and above. Please check with your content provider for more details." error when opening a FlipBook.

The FlipBook has been protected from screen capture, and this feature is only supported on Mac OS X 10.3 and above. To view the FlipBook, you would require Mac OS X 10.3 or above machine.

You may wish to approach the Publisher of the FlipBook for assistance.

I have encountered "FlipViewer cannot open this HTML FlipBook. Only HTML FlipBooks with digital signatures will be opened properly." error when opening a FlipBook.

All FlipBooks that contain HTML pages must be digitally signed or DRM-enabled before they can be opened using Mac FlipViewer®. You may want to refer the FlipBook publisher to our Small Business Services to digitally sign the FlipBook.
