Digital publications in FlipBook format feature an impressive 3D Page-Flipping interface (simulating the reading experience of paper-based publications). The FlipBook format was developed by E-Book Systems (www.flipviewer.com) and is capable of integrating multimedia contents such as video, audio and animations.
The digital FlipBook magazine is an exact replica of the print version in a 3D flipping format. Hence, all the pictures, articles, advertisements are the same in the FlipBook version. One can even turn the pages. The digital version also offers further advantages, including:
As you read the magazine in a digital format, you can use the full-text search feature of FlipViewer® to locate keywords in the articles. Of course you can also zoom in on interesting articles or images, and just as you would do with a Post-it note, add notes to the pages.
To read publications in the FlipBook format, a viewing program called FlipViewer® is required. FlipViewer® is available for free to the readers and no registration is required by the user to be able to download FlipViewer®. If you do not have FlipViewer® installed on your PC or Macintosh yet, FlipViewer® will install automatically when you download a FlipBook for the first time.
We do recommend a Broadband Internet connection for the fast and convenient downloading of FlipBooks.
Yes, you can. FlipViewer® supports Mac OS X version 10.3.9 and above. Macintosh running on OS 9 and below are unfortunately not supported. New Macintosh with Intel CPUs will be supported in the next version of Mac FlipViewer®, which will be released soon. Please note that you will have to manually install FlipViewer® on a Macintosh. Simply download it and install the .dmg file. You can then immediately start reading FlipBooks.
The FlipViewer® Library is part of FlipViewer®, and it allows for convenient management of FlipBooks.
We have specially indicated some titles in the Home section of the FlipViewer® Library for your convenience and reading pleasure. You may go ahead and access them, if interested.
This will depend on the Publisher. An internet connection is needed when opening a FlipBook for the first time. Thereafter, you can continue to read the FlipBook offline (without the internet connection) unless the Publisher restricts it.
Yes, you can read FlipBooks on computers with firewall installed. FlipViewer® is using port number 80, which is the same port your Internet browser is using. In case FlipViewer® cannot connect to the Internet, make sure that you allow your firewall to let FlipViewer® and FlipViewer® Library access the Internet directly.
Yes, FlipViewer® uses the Proxy Settings that are defined in Internet Explorer (IE) settings. If you have not yet configured this in IE, please do so first, and then try to connect again. Some local proxy server tools such WebWasher can lead to a problem though. You might need to manually configure these Firewalls to let FlipViewer® communicate with the Internet. FlipViewer® uses the same port number as the HTTP protocol, port number 80.
Some parts of FlipViewer® may be recognized by some older virus definitions as a Trojan, especially with Avira. You can safely ignore this, as the FlipViewer® installer that you download from our websites are 100% virus-free.
Flipbooks that you read are automatically stored in the FlipViewer® Library. You can easily find the downloaded FlipBook by lauching the FlipViewer® Library from the Windows Start menu under E-Book Systems -> FlipViewer® -> FlipViewer® Library.
It is possible that the FlipBook is not activated on your second computer. Please connect your computer to the Internet and open the FlipBook again.
